Public, versioned & auditable

The DEBATES.studio Charter

These are the principles under which every debate on this platform is organized, hosted, and archived.

Article I

Independence

DEBATES.studio is a neutral venue. We do not endorse candidates, parties, or outcomes. We are accountable to the public, not to any campaign or sponsor.

Article II

Equal invitation

Every qualifying candidate in a contested race is offered equal opportunity to participate, on equal terms, with equal speaking time and equal preparation materials.

Article III

Transparent rules

Debate format, segments, time allotments, and moderation standards are published in advance to both candidates and the public.

Article IV

Sponsor disclosure

All sponsors, partners, and funders associated with a debate are disclosed on the debate page before the event begins, and remain visible in the archive.

Article V

Audience participation, not adjudication

Audience scoring on DEBATES.studio reflects public sentiment among self-selected viewers. It is not an official election result and is never presented as one.

Article VI

Public, immutable archive

After publication, every debate's record — replay, transcript, summary, and scorecard — is locked. Corrections are appended, never silently rewritten.

Article VII

Accountability

Complaints and integrity concerns may be filed by any participant or member of the public. Each is logged, reviewed, and resolved on the public record.

Charter v1.0 — last revised on the date of platform launch. Changes are version-controlled and appear in the public changelog.
